PHIL STERN EYEWITNESS
CEO Frank Mayor and Hector Sandoval of Sandoval Media are heading to Sicily to complete a new documentary "Phil Stern Eyewitness." Footage will be shot of Phil Stern on the 70th anniversary of Patton's landing in Sicily. Phil Stern got his start as a war photographer and went on to photograph many celebrities, including Jack Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and numerous jazz artists. The documentary is slated for completion in 2013.

Zhonggui Shi was born in the Sichuan province of China and is a highly acclaimed artist who is well known both in China and abroad, where he has won numerous awards. In 1995, he was invited by the Japanese government to Tokyo, where he was received by the Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and put on a one-man exhibition at Ginza Art Gallery. He has also exhibited in Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and France, where in 2000 he was awarded the title of "Academician" by Academy of Arts-Sciences-Lettres of France, the first time the title had been awarded to an artist of Chinese citizenship since its founding in 1915. His works command high prices in China and he has been honored by the Chinese government through the release of a postage stamps bearing his image and recognizing is unique contribution to art.

GEM has become the exclusive distributor of all CCTV film and television product for North America, through its subsidiaries Cinevision International and China Media Ventures. The first release will be "The Forbidden City," a four-part documentary co-produced between CCTV and National Geographic shot in High Definition and narrated in English. Discussions are also underway between GEM and CITVC (CCTV's international branch) in regards to doing co-productions in both the film and television arena.

Cinevision International makes a big impression at the American Library Association (ALA) Conference in Chicago, IL. with its breathtaking 60-title documentary series, "Discover China"!
The conference was held July 11th-14th with over 13,000 attendees. We received many compliments on our dynamic booth, and there was a great interest in "Discover China" amongst the librarians and scholars attending.
